Meet the Practitioners of Cardiology Associates of Princeton, PA

J. Brandt McCabe, MD, FACC

"There are three broad elements to the medical care of patients: the person's history; the objective facts of examination and lab data; and thirdly, assessment, communication and treatment. The history allows us to know each other and allows me to ultimately treat not a disease but a person. It focuses the diagnosis. I am detail-oriented regarding exam and labs, for these powerful facts can be decisive. Assessment and treatment combine all these elements into a plan and communication makes that a partnership. I have enjoyed cardiology consultations as well as long term primary care for the last twenty four years in Princeton and have benefited from a rich network of colleagues here."

Andrew J. Shanahan, MD, FACC

I am the interventional cardiologist for Cardiology Associates of Princeton. Since joining Cardiology Associates of Princeton in 1996, my goal has been to provide high quality, cutting-edge cardiac care. My practice encompasses all aspects of cardiac care – prevention, diagnosis and treatment. We work hard every day to give our patients the finest care possible. In addition, I also serve as Director of the Emergency Angioplasty Program at the University Medical Center at Princeton where I provide catheter-based coronary angiography in the hospital’s fully accredited, digital cardiac catheterization laboratory. We offer comprehensive diagnostic services for patients with many types of cardiac disease as well as those at high risk for cardiac disease.
